Written Just Before His Mission
July 1979

The creator said, I will send you,
A special spirit for a unique purpose on earth,
To righteous parents who are just waiting for a son.
You will have the potential for creativity, talent & skill
And I will make you kind, sincere, good natured & teachable.
Develop these qualities
That they may be helpful tools in accomplishing your special purpose.
I will not send you to a life of comfort and ease,
But will give you your free agency,
Where adversity temptations and the buffetings of Satan
Will cunningly entice and dissuade you, from the light
Until your purpose may be temporarily forgotten.
But you will brave the storm, you will overcome temptation
And you will rise above the snares of sin
Having acquired learning from it all.
Then you will know compassion for those who fail,
Strength for those who are weak
And you will have the ability to reach those who have gone astray.
Your youthful kindness, consideration and teachable nature
Will be transformed into brotherly love, benevolence, and humility.
You will receive your call and be made more aware of your mission on earth.
Virginia is waiting for you
So forget your personal cares and interests of home,
(for the time being!)
Remember that you are a son of God
Out on an errand for your Father.
You will encounter failure
But never will you know how close success lies
Until you knock on the next door,
Or turn the next corner.
Don’t ever forget who is guiding your footsteps
Who it is that leads you to an unknown door.
Persist, press on, charge forward
And you will succeed in a step toward
Your ultimate purpose. Then will the Spirit of Truth shine in your eyes,
Bring a smile to your lips
And echo in your voice,
That hearts may be opened,
And you will walk tall among men.
